The average American indulging in Thanksgiving feasts, consumes over 4,500 calories on Thanksgiving Day (and some 250+ fat grams!)

today I just feel like quitting.
(the weightloss thing that is....no I'm not sending out a cry for help.)
Another bad eating day, and no exercise. Tired of thinking about it all the time. Doesn't seem to help that hormones are playing a factor once again...every 3 weeks or less is FOR THE BIRDS!!
Also, feeling the stress of working more hours. That's just dumb too, cause I LOVE my job...it's so NOT stressful, and yet, with being scheduled more hours, I find it just lurking in the back of my mind all the time...like it's some big stressful thing, that really isn't. Dumb, I know. So, anyhow...guess the holidays and all the shopping/list making/planning/budget crunching fun that goes along with it are starting to mess with my head too.
Tomorrow's a new day. Hoping to have a better attitude/outlook. Sorry for venting.

I was at my parent's house helping them hang Christmas lights/decorations outside all day, which kept me from snacking. Tomorrow evening I will be making 2 pies (cherry and peanut butter) for a Thanksgiving dinner I will be having at our house on Wednesday evening. I haven't had pie for quite some time, so hopefully will control my temptations and only eat a small sliver.
BTW---Tania, I know this sounds a little crazy, but when I get a migraine (which happens at least twice a month) I drink a soda that is high in caffeine, for instance, Mt. Dew. A friend of mine who constantly had migraines went to the doctor and he told her to drink soda high in caffeine to get rid of the headache (she is also on migraine meds). I have tried this and at times it works and other times it doesn't do anything. Just thought I would throw it out there for you to maybe give it a try if you want to. Can't hurt anything! Goodluck, I know how bad migraines can be. They are awful; your eyes hurt with light, you can barely walk without feeling like your going to pass out, nauseousness, constant head throbbing, and I get it down my neck as well. I sure hope you can figure out what is wrong and start feeling better soon! Best of luck!

okay I am going to start out by saying this is my hungry week and I am not nervous about anything so it is going to be tough to keep my appetite at bay. I did okay today, though. Ate well. Passed up peanut M & M's at work. People are bringing leftover Halloween candy. Generally, I am so busy that I don't have time to think about it. That is a good thing! Total calories today: 1330. Walked 2 miles this morning.

I'm back, but briefly for now......but have two things......
1. WAY TO GO JAMIE!!!! Listened to the whole hour show and you did great!!! You have the perfect radio voice, can't wait to hear more!!!

Anyways - I have been running and you all know I love to run. Anyways, I took some time off from running due to getting extreme headaches after I would run. I have started back up and am having headaches once again. Yesterday, being so nice out, I went for a run at about 3:30 - last night I think I had one of the worst migraines I have ever had. Vomitting and the whole nine yards! It was one of those were you can do nothing to get any relief and just want to cry your eyes out. Aaron was wanting to take me to the ER but I refused. I am going to call the doctor today to see what may be going on - I feel like I can no longer just ignore that there may be something more. I guess I just wanted to see if any of you had any advice on what could be the cause, if you have ever gone through this, etc. I used to think it was maybe from not drinking enough water but I truly feel like I have been drinking more than enough water so I do not think that is it. Anyways, I need to go for now - I promise I will be back and will post more later!

My weekend eats weren't too bad, but I guess they weren't too good either! Saturday I did fairly well until that evening when we had a family Thanksgiving party to go to. All of the food just looked soooo good, and I just had to sample a few different things. Today I did OK, but had a major chocolate craving (yep, I get that every month at a certain time :) So I decided to make a batch of brownies. Major mistake!!! I think I had about 3, maybe even 4 of those darn delicous treats!! Think I'm going to hit the treadmill tonight.....at least to burn off those stinkin' calories from the brownies!

Basically, I did not stay on a good food plan...by choice. I did walk 2 miles on Friday, 4 on Sat and 3 1/2 today. So that should help offset a little. Hope to really eat well (I cut up a whole thing of celery to munch on all week) and exercise daily to counteract Thursday and the long weekend. I am going to try and not obsess about the food and just enjoy it in small portions. We'll at least give it a whirl!

Went to Sam's Club in the morning for groceries and they were having a food sample extravaganza! Samples to taste in every aisle!!! Awesome, but the snacking just seemed to snowball from there.

Well, the number is not changing, bummer. Stuck at 177.6 today last week was my only change to 177.4 and now back at 177.6. Guess my scale want to get tossed out the window. Great job to see how good everyone is doing. I think we will all be thinking of each other next week as we approach a big holiday!! Have a good weekend!

Well, I wasn't happy to see the scale move up 5 more lbs---that's 10lbs in just over 3 months. I know, "you're pregnant Amy, enjoy it!" It's just hard because it took a lot to lose those 30lbs and to see/feel it being added back onto my body.....ugh!!! It's also hard because I still fell like I'm in that "FAT" stage of pregnancy; my belly is just so darn bloated.

Anyway, like many of you have mentioned already, Thanksgiving will be tough but I know that you all will do just fine! Congrats on all of the weight loss---even those who stayed the same in weight. Have a great weekend everyone and those who start their turkeyday early...enjoy!!!

I don't mind it myself. :) Wondering how many calories are in it since it's dried?!?! Good luck everyone tomorrow on your weigh-ins!!!!!

Hey Everyone - just been busy with work, home, kids ect. I have still been watching my eats and run/walking each morning. Got on the scale today and still at 177.6, not even my 177.2 as last Friday. Think I need to adjust my food choices and mix it up some. Got to get past this 177 hump and 24 pounds total. Need to lose 12.6 pounds to meet my December Goal. Need to step up the exercise.......Amber

I made sure I did NO snacking today since I splurged some when I went to McD's. Usually I try to order a salad when I go there, but today I just wasn't in the mood for that. I'm not doing so well in the exercise department this week. For some reason I just can not get motivated to do so.

Not too bad today, even with McDonalds--I made sure I counted calories before I ordered at McDonalds. If you're never sure order a kids meal--you know that it's probably not as caloric as an adults meal.

I was googling t-shirts for our Jingle Bell run in December (ANYONE STILL PLANNING TO RUN/WALK?!) and happened across a running shirt with this reference: Hebrews 12:1

lunch: fettucini alfredo w. squash, mushrooms, tomatoes (leftovers from good weekend cooking...yumm!), few shark crackers, rice krispie treat 550, pickle-0
snack: carrots, apple muffin 135
dinner: small garden salad w. lite dressing, lite cheese stick, carrots, lite n fit yogurt, 1/2 eaten rice krispie treat (WHY?!) 290
total cal 1255
will definitely be back on the treadmill tonight...I did get a good 25 minute run last night. Felt good.

Anyhow...we cracked open a jar of baby dill pickles for lunch (kids LOVE them!) and as I read over the label it listed calories for one whole pickle: 0 (that's ZERO!!)
So...one could figure on eating the WHOLE JAR for nothing!! Not that I'd recommend it...check out the sodium!! But still... I'm all about calorie-free snacking. I'm just sayin...
